My favorite Dark Phoenix so far that I think Jean Grey is there because of the intro part is so damn amazing, and I just sawed the action part, and the kiss scene is super amazing, and also the final battle is so sad, because Jean Grey Died.

I am not a huge X-Men fan and mostly watched this because of Sophie Turner. I don't agree with the critics, and thought she was quite good. She felt a bit stiff or out of place in the beginning but it got better after a bit and by the end I wanted more. The only other X-Men that was worth watching unfortunately [SPOILER] I do not understand the love for Storm and her accent is confusing as hell. What accent is she trying to pull off? English is not my first language so maybe that's why it is hard for me to pinpoint, but the character(or perhaps actress) is not interesting whatsoever to me. The other heroes are all a bit boring as well so if it wasn't for Sophie Turner/Jean Grey my rating would probably have been an average 5.

Not as bad as the previous movies of the series. If you managed to watch those, you will undergo this too. I gave it a good score just for the CGI and the overall acting and directing. The ideas are good, and the plot is not great. They tried to tie in something that can keep you watching. Too many resemblances with the Capitan Marvel character and similar twists. Overall a time killer you can watch. I disliked the ending which is geared toward a new generation of young fans. I was not a fan before the first series of movies and I'm definetely not a fan now, but it is entertaining and if you did not managed to see this then you don't appreciate the whole movie as a group effort. This is not a movie to learn stuff or to meditate on hidden messages, it's just cgi action and basic storytelling.

Okay I have been an X-Men fan forever I'm not sure what the hell these people are doing because Jennifer Lawrence's character lives to be a grown ass woman in the original X-Men franchise I know everybody's grasping about Sophie's character. I do kind of the agree with the comment he does kind of remind me of Kristen Stewart. It is a sad way of ending what was a beautiful character and one of my favorites.

I really wanted to like this movie, got through 1 hour & 23 minutes of it but could not handle any more than that.

I love the X Men movies, always have & this one was a major stinker.

They could have done a lot better job with it but they chose to just ride on the X Men name-coattails.

Wasn't sooo bad. Not as bad as I was expecting from the ratings and reviews.
Not at all sorry I watched. No plans to watch it again. I thought the story was better told
in an earlier X Man movies.
Sometimes it's tougher to enjoy something than be critical. To each their own.

Wow that was depressing. This wasnt the Phoenix Sage I was familiar with. Then again, I'm not a big Xmen fan so maybe I'm wrong. Either way, this seemed poorly thrown together. A sad ending to the franchise.

All that damn time they spent on freaking reshoots and this is the end result?! What a f**king waste of time. The story is way too convoluted. It's also so damn rushed. After like the first 30 minutes, It was like the movie was on fast forward or something. The pacing was all over the place.

And that character's death... are we really supposed to feel something?! Like for real?! For one thing... Never really cared about the character and secondly the death was already ruined in the freaking trailer. The fights and action were also disappointing except for the final battle. The villains were one Dimensional. What a Massive waste of Jessica Chastian

Did not care for Jean Grey at all. Seriously, she's supposed to be the main focus and I felt absolutely nothing. She was one of the weakest parts. The film had zero emotional impact. It's the end of an era and I felt nothing. The only plus for me was the final battle of the film. I genuinely enjoyed that bit.

Just watch X-Men: Days of Future Past instead. ...

After reading so many bad reviews of this movie, including the review section below, I was very skeptical about the movie, even considering if I should watch it at all. But I did, and you were all right: it's a terrible phukin movie. I was skipping parts just to get it over with, hoping for some redeemable scenes here and there, but nothing. Dreeeeeeeeeadful... Urgh.

And the worst by far was Sophie Turner's acting. Worst ever choice for this role. The producers probably wanted to coin a bit on the back of her GOT status, but it failed dismally. Big mistake.

X-men on a killing spree, wow! Disney should be proud of itself for taking mutants to the next level (voice dripping with sarcasm). What utter garbage. The entire storyline has been distorted, and the characters are no longer recognizable. Shame on Disney for taking a whole beloved genre and shoving it down the toilet.

I stopped watching after the first 20 mins. An utterly absurd ‘mission’ involving NASA immediately segued into PC/woke allegory for race and Wah-men. X-Men are now Wah-men. Just more pandering which has ruined the entire genre. You have been warned.

I don't want to pile onto just how bad this movie was, so I'll say something different: I preferred the [SPOILER] over Jean Grey. Seriously. I wanted to know THEIR backstory instead, and found them much more interesting.

Re-shoots and last minute changes couldn't save this one. They can't blame it's performance on the competitive box office. It would have bombed even in February. Bad writing will sink a movie no matter how much money you pour into it. Apocalypse should have been the closing episode of the series. It was so much better.

Hoping the next reboot is put in better hands.

What crap! A waste of my time. Except for the future of Deadpool, I am SO glad Fox has no more control over the X-Men. Each movie is a different time, two different casts... how could they think they could have an "X-Men Universe" when its so all-over-the-place? Perhaps Marvel will do it right...or perhaps not.
I'm so over mutants anyway, with their one special power that does't do quite enough to take care of things.
"What's your mutant power?"
"I glow in the dark."
Big deal.

Went to see this last night and it was good, but not great. Sansa didn't portray Jean Gray in the way I would have hoped, and I just found it a bit predictable.

The aliens were cool and there is some good action. Magneto

Its no coincidence this movie came out right as Game of Thrones ended. I think this movie was a seedy money grabbing move because the studio and the marketing dept both realized Sophie Turner adds her GOT fans to the cinema. The movie was "eh"... and I feel like a sheep for watching basically because I wanted to see more Sansa Stark/Sophie Turner

If you never grew up with the original Xmen series or cartoon series then this is a good movie. If you did grow up with the original series, then this movie is way off track of the original storyline that was presented to (us) me when I was growing up and insistent on watching Xmen every weekend--back when their was only Saterday Cartoons. So far the last few Xmen movies I have watched, their always killing someone off and I am not so impressed with this movie any more then I am of the last few. If you did not grow up with the Xmen series, and your a born again Xmen fanatic, then by all means this movie rocked and was very well done.

Well, I don't think it's all that bad but it's not great either. I don't think it's the worst X-Men movie, I'd give that spot to The Wolverine or The Last Stand. Sophie Turner did better than I expected her to, better than she did in Apocalypse anyway. I'm going to watch this again at a later date when I will be better able to see all the dark scenes and see the action better. I will hold off judging it completely until then. I would say if you are an X-Men fan then you should certainly watch it. I wish they would make a movie about Quicksilver, he's one of my favorites. I'll give this a 6.7/10 for right now, that may change when I watch it again though.

I just wish Movie writers and producers would stop killing movie franchises and trying to fix things that aren't broken in ones such as X-men and the likes. There is no need for it.
Other than that the movie was ok.....nothing extremely special to write home about.
Could have been a longer movie and should have been a longer movie as I thought I was actually watching a Feature length EPISODE of X-men not an ACTUAL movie of X-men and as Adrian88 said, there was whole chunks of the movie missing.....

Better try again MARVEL!!!!

This seems to be the summer of failed monster/superhero movies. While avengers was great, Godzilla and X-men FAILED. in the case of Xmen TOTALLY. It seems an orginally great story was condensed again and again till it was torn apart.
The plot seems sometimes weird as if just parts wre missing. and why do some of the formerly bad xmen live in kind of a MadMax Villa? The aliens are not introduced properly and are mumbling pathatic nonsense mostly.
THis should be the last X-men movie for sure.

Phoenix is a 113-minute movie? Really?

It had to be in separate 3 parts at least just to put all in this together. It was Fox's final push to get some money out of the most powerful character out there. In that sense, it was actually the last stand.

I do not know this fits into the adventure category! [SPOILER]

This story can't be told in 113 minutes. I am not sure it can be told in 300 minutes. Given the fact how complex the character is! They made a mess of the character. Hope Marvel will do a better job in future.

Anyway, this duration of the movie Ruined any hope for it to be better than the last stand.

I thought the acting was decent enough. Other characters of the movie are underused.

Directing was alright.

Storytelling and the script were really poor.

My review for this movie is 5/10.

Not great, not bad. It's pretty obvious that Fox wanted to push out one last X-Men movie that would get a lot of attention, before the rights reverted to Marvel. There was no way the Phoenix Saga could be condensed in to one movie that was under 2 hours. Ultimately it needs a multi-movie story. Being Fox's second go at it, they knew this. But any mention of Phoenix will get butts in seats, and they had nothing to lose.

The one major complaint I really have is that they retcon the end of Apocalypse. 3 years between movies is not enough time to start tossing around retcons. Especially one with so much impact.

The best part to me is the arc that Xavier goes through with his role and how he views his actions versus how others view them. With the new timeline, the determining factors to making him such a selfless person, never took place. His ego went unchecked. But that is also a bad thing, because a lot of characters aren't like they were in older movies due to the diverging timelines, and that seems to have really confused people.

The acting was also really good aside from Jennifer Lawrence. I think she checked out mentally 2 movies ago, giving another performance that screamed how much she'd rather be anywhere but on that movie set. Nicholas Holt and Sophie Turner did the best, and Tye Sheridan definitely improved his ability to emote even with the visor on.

It is very easy to see that rewrites and reshoots were done during the late-stage of production, which is what leads to some of the big plot problems and contradictions. They didn't have much choice though, given the original plot and ending was way too much like Captain Marvel. Maybe it'll be on the extras when it gets a home media release, but for now their word on it is all there is.

It's somewhere in the middle it wasn't terrible and it was Not spectacular , the CGI HAD TO BE OVERDONE. It's the Phoenix force within her. Was better than I had expected went into it with no expectations and an open mind. U do get to see the entity of the Phoenix in certain parts if your looking real close , the battle & big fight scenes were super (see what I did there ) well done and it has a thru line to 1st act,2nd act & 3rd act. Seeing some mutants i hadn't see in a while was very cool ,tho others that were originally around that time couldn't be used lol which was sad and a little deflating .

Funny how Quicksilver is a X-PERSON and His younger twin sister is Avenger as she is Scarlet Witch and they retconned some deaths but left other ones open for debate, then did some deaths that were expected. - The MCU will get changed because of the infinite timelines . Like They did for Avenger's Endgame ..

At least they tried to get Scott Summers a tad right but for g*d dang really tho he is called Slim Summers (6'2or taller don't get me wrong but it does matter and Tye Sheridan has been doing a decent job playing him but to short and to much of baby face for Cyclops) for a reason & is The true leader of the X-Men .. They still made him out to be a little b**chy whiner but he actually had some leader type moments and better noted writing to fixing his powers ..

Compared to other X-men movies, I was not impressed. There was some good points. But it was basically just genes power amplified. You never even get to see the Phoenix.
And didn't they already did a movie where the Phoenix killed Scott and the professor? In the real story gene tales the Phoenix and flies into the sun. Sadly this was just a cheap knock off attempt to pull s little more cash from the X-Men franchise

I thought it was pretty good overall, save a few cheesy one-liners it could've done without. The final battle was great, and I was pleased with how they handled Jean's whole character arc. It would've been frustrating had she not been able to grasp that one simple truth. It looks like they did a good job with the effects.

Good overall BUT And to me a kind of large issue about the powers of the X-man. Biggest one that got me was Storm. (sp) Storm can fly at will....yet in the biggest fights they completely leave her flight out of the fighting? What just to make what they think would be a better fight sequence... She seems to only use ONE power at all and that is lightning...so trivial when it comes to her powers of element manipulation. Too many others powers are forgotten or just not used to make certain scenarios work for them. In my opinion they failed in that aspect.

Not bad. As an MCU movie I expected it to stray from the original in the comics. In the comics her phoenix powers were blocked by Xavier when she was young, but some trauma later made her break down and let the Dark Phoenix emerge. My memory is cloudy on what happened, but I think she was killed. In a Marvel comic's "What If?" she some how emerged as Dark Phoenix, and used to sneak out of the school and destroy planets to feed the force. At some point she got into a fight with Galactus, which ended in a stale mate. But alas, she lost again was going to destroy the universe until the Living Tribunal got involved I think.

Anyhow most of the MCU are retellings of many of the stories from the 80s and 90s.

Marvel has always had better female badasses and DC. Who does DC have? Wonder woman. The power girl from the Teen Titans?

I did enjoy seeing Dazzler though, no one remembers her but me. LOL
