It's harvest time for saffron, the precious seasoning that's mostly grown in Iran, but used in cuisines around the world. Saffron is derived from the saffron crocus, an autumn-flowering plant with purple petals as richly hued as the vivid crimson stigmas (called 'threads') in the center of the bloom. These threads are carefully extracted by hand with tweezers and dried before they're used for cooking. Each flower comes with just three threads, and it takes a lot of them—roughly 75,000 crocuses will yield just one pound of saffron. The entire harvest can last only about a week or two, because that's the short life of the saffron crocus bloom.
This time of year, the small Spanish town of Consuegra celebrates the end of the harvest season with a saffron-themed festival. This is home to some of Spain's best-preserved windmills, which traditionally milled the wheat grown in the region. ...

@Bread&Circuses This is funny! Depending on the state you happen to live in. Such as TN has no state taxes but i believe at this time it's 8.5% sales tax on everything including a gallon of milk.. PA one of the cheapest places for property tax is in the midst of channging that tax.. There really is no way to avoid it.. We ALL should have to pay equally xoxo

........................................

*Life is a continuous learning experience. Throughout our lives we keep rising and falling, picking up important lessons along the way. Some of these lessons come from experience, yet there are others that we learn watching others or reading in books for example. No matter how much we learn from the books there is a significant difference between practical and theoretical experience. Furthermore, there are many life lessons that we simply cannot learn until we face certain situations in our life. Most people would say that there are some lessons that come too late, catching us off-guard.

Your life is now.
We keeping waiting for that amazing thing to happen in the future that will be the key to our happiness. But this is it. Your life is right now. Life continues to be a series of right nows. So learn to love your life right now, and you'll have an amazing life.

Jaclyn grew up in Sydney, lived in England, Canada and the US, and now lives in Sydney again. She studied English at the University of Sydney, and law at Yale University and Cambridge University, where she was awarded a PhD....* I would like to recommend the adult debut novel from Jaclyn...*Gravity Is The Thing.

If you love the feel of the paper between your fingers as you read a great book, this is a true page turner, I always travel with a novel mostly for the plane going and returning home, this book did not make it to the trip home, had to finish it.

Inspirational True Stories.....

A Little Hurt...............By Joseph J.Mazzella
I was laying on my bed relaxing after a long day. Music was playing in the background and I was taking the time to read a good book. Just as I turned the page an old song started playing that always reminded me of my Mom. I put the book down and listened. Even though it had been 23 years since cancer had taken her from us, sometimes it still felt like it was only yesterday. I closed my eyes and allowed the flood of memories to wash over me. I thought of Mom’s sparkling eyes and shining smile which lived on in the faces of my own children. I thought of her sweet voice and gentle laugh that never failed to lift my spirits. I thought of how she brightened up every room she walked into. I thought of how she was a friend to everyone she met and how her kindness touched the hearts of so many. I thought of how she made this world a better place just by being in it. And my heart ached as I thought of how I still missed her so much. I wiped the tears from my cheeks as the song finished, looked out my window at the night sky, and sent an "I love you, Mom" from my lips to Heaven’s ear. Now some people would ask why I didn't shut the music off the second that song came on. Why did I subject myself to the pain it brought? I think the answer is that sometimes you have to let in a little hurt in order to let in a lot of love. Sometimes you have to open your heart in order to truly live. Life here will always be a mix of the bitter and the sweet, but you can’t shut down your soul. At times you have to embrace the pain and then let it go. When you do you will find that what is left is love. May you always keep your heart open to love. May you always keep your heart open to messages from Heaven. They can come at the strangest times on the winds of a memory or the wings of a song.

🔸Two Old Guys at Dinner

🔸An elderly couple has dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives leave the table and go into the kitchen. The two gentlemen were talking, and one says, Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly. The other man asks,What is the name of the restaurant? The first man thinks and thinks and finally asks, What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love? You know... The one that's red and has thorns....Do you mean a rose?...Yes, that's the one, replied the man. He then turns towards the kitchen and yells, Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?

🔸 Have a great week........Stay safe
